Waiting on Wednesday #5

'Waiting on Wednesday' is a weekly event--hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine--that spotlights upcoming books that are eagerly being anticipated.

My oh-my-gosh-this-book-needs-to-hurry-and-be-available-at-the-store-now pick of the week is...

The Night Circus
By: Erin Morgenstern
Release Date: September 13th, 2011

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.
Written in rich, seductive prose, this spell-casting novel is a feast for the senses and the heart.

I know, this book is not a YA book, but WHO CARES!! Not only does it have a wickedly amazing cover, but the premise of the book causes equal parts danger and swoon!

How did I come across this book you ask?

Well, my mom read an article regarding the book in our Sunday newspaper claiming that:

1) It is going to be the next Harry Potter (wth... that is a pretty big claim) even though it is an adult book;
2) It has already been optioned for a movie deal by Summit Entertainment (apparently all 5 books!!);
3) It is one of the largest 1st time publications by a first-time author (100,000 copies... first print!).

I don't read a lot of adult novels and I really couldn't tell you why. However, I can say that I am sufficiently overthemoonhyperventilatingcountingdownthedayssecretlyinternetstalkinganythingaboutthebook
stoked for this book!

What is the book your waiting on this Wednesday?

Ch-ch-ch-Changes....

You may or may not have noticed, but I am making some changes! I really wasn't feeling the name of my blog so I asked my Dad to help me come up with a new.
He did.
I loved it.
So I was trying out the title for a while.
Well, I still love it so I changed my url address to match it!! (shadeofnightlightofday.blogspot.com) Yes, I know it's a little long, but whatever, I think it is pretty easy to remember! :0)

Any-who.... I will also be attempting to change the layout of my blog and try to "pretty-fy" (yes, I just said that) it.  I see so many amazing blogs that are colorful, nicely laid out, and very eye-catching>>> all of which I WANT.

I'm not much of a techie/computer/blog expert, chances are I will drive myself insane trying to figure it all out.

If you have any tips, advice, sites, wisdom, tid-bits of information you'd like to share.... please, please, pur-ty please oh please with sugar on top DO!! (or even just let me know if it looks sucktacular in any way, shape, or form!)

I figure that my stubbornness and unwillingness NOT to have an un-cute blog will help me win the battle against technology!!

Tune In Tuesday #3

Alright.... you caught me.... I was a bad blogger last week and didn't post.... well, ANYTHING! To make matters worse, I don't have a legitimate excuse as to why!
BUT....
I have returned and vow to be a good blogger this week.  :0)

Yesterday, while I was writing I heard this song.  It was really beautiful and the lyrics seemed to know exactly what I wanted my character to think at that very moment.  I love when music does that! Enjoy!

Artist: Ron Pope
Song Title: Drop in the Ocean
